Navigating anxiety, ADHD and autism

I want to share something personal and started navigating the challenges of anxiety, ADHD and autism. I stumbled upon spinner rings, cheap ones online and thought I’d buy some for myself and a family member. These ones were made of cheap brass metals and with my sensitive skin, my skin reacted to them. These rings are a quiet ally in my pocket, helping me manage my anxiety, constant fidgeting at work and the daily whirlwind of emotions but wearing them caused my skin to itch like crazy!

So I looked and looked online searching for hypoallergenic anxiety spinner rings. I couldn’t find one - just the cheap ones. I also found that the websites that sold the cheaper rings had the same mass produced rings - they were not unique. So I looked into manufacturers and asked if they could make anxiety rings from sterling silver and make custom designs.

Every time I feel the familiar grip of anxiety sneaking in, I reach for my spinner ring. It’s soothing, almost like a mini-meditation session on my finger. The repetitive motion brings a sense of clarity I often lose amidst all the noise. It's not a magic cure and won’t stop anxiety overnight, but it certainly feels like my nervous energy has a place to escape, especially when everything starts feeling a bit too much.

I've noticed that spinner rings can serve as a distraction from habits like skin-picking or hair-pulling, which are all too common in our household. As a working mum who juggles the unique needs of a special needs child, every tool that helps maintain calm and focus is invaluable. It feels good to rely on something so simple that isn't just another task or therapy to add to our routine.

The presence of my spinner ring is subtle, but its impact is tangible. It's heartening to have this little token of peace with me, lightly spinning away whenever I need a moment of serenity. Plus, I find comfort knowing it’s a tool that others who experience anxiety-related behaviours can also benefit from.

And let’s not forget they're pretty stylish too. But truly, the real beauty lies in their ability to transform anxious moments into ones of calm. For anyone out there who, like me, is juggling the wild yet wonderful ride of parenthood with ADHD and/or autism, these rings might just be a small but mighty support, right there at your fingertip.

Remember, this journey doesn't have to be faced alone. Tools like spinner rings offer us small victories each day, helping make room for patience, understanding, and moments of peace.
