A 30-second grounding technique

For busy hands and busy minds — no ring required

1

Name 3 things you can feel. The chair under you, your feet on the floor, the fabric of your sleeve. This pulls attention out of your head and into your body.

2

Press your thumb and forefinger together, slowly, for 5 seconds. Release. Repeat 3 times. This is the same principle behind why fidgeting helps — small, repetitive movement gives your nervous system something to regulate around.

3

One slow exhale, longer than your inhale. Even a single breath like this signals safety to your nervous system.
